Day Glow Colors \/ Neon Colors<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The pigments of dayglow ink have a neon color due to the natural UV component in sunlight. This is also referred to as\u00a0fluorescent ink<\/strong>. Signal colors are usually preferred as fluorescent colors, such as neon red, neon pink, neon orange, neon yellow or neon light green.\u00a0Due to the implementation in thick-layer screen printing, our neon colors have a particularly intensive effect compared to other printing processes<\/strong>. We can also print them on materials up to several millimeters thick, such as cardboard.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Phosphorescent ink (Glow-in-the-dark)<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This\u00a0ink stores light energy and releases it again in the dark by glowing<\/strong>. Colloquially the term\u00a0noctilucent<\/strong>\u00a0has also become established.<\/p>

Technically speaking, one speaks of\u00a0phosphorescent ink<\/strong>, internationally one likes to speak of a “glow in the dark<\/strong>” effect.<\/p>

Like the battery in electricity, the effect weakens over time and can be strengthened again by recharging under light. The\u00a0brighter the background, the better and longer the luminous effect<\/strong>.<\/p>

Glow-in-the-dark ink is slightly milky-transparent in daylight and glows yellow with a slight greenish tinge in the dark. It is often used in the field of stickers and\u00a0signs for marking escape routes<\/strong>. In the graphic arts sector, it is often used for\u00a0mailings, book covers or Advent calendars<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The\u00a0almost transparent<\/strong>\u00a0and thus unnoticeable\u00a0security coating suddenly glows neon-colored under certain light sources<\/strong>. The required light wavelength is found in\u00a0bill validators<\/strong>\u00a0and, curiously, also in the so-called “black light<\/strong>” or “UV light” of discotheques and club dancefloors. In addition to its use in security printing, for example as\u00a0protection against counterfeiting of vouchers<\/strong>, the coating is therefore also popular for stunning\u00a0advertising in discotheques<\/strong>, bars and nightclubs.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

In this process, stamp glue<\/strong> is partially printed onto<\/strong> a mailing form. After filling out the form, the glue is moistened as with a stamp<\/strong> and the form is folded up and sealed. An envelope is not necessary. The simplicity of the system encourages a high response rate. Iriodine pigments add a subtle mother-of-pearl shimmer to your print<\/strong>. In everyday life, these effect pigments are often seen in metallic or metallic car paintwork. Alternatively, we can also achieve mother-of-pearl effects<\/strong> using hot foil stamping. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Interference colors<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Interference colors are colors with a tilt effect<\/strong>, i.e. a slight\u00a0change in the ink\u00b4s shade, depending on the viewing angle<\/strong>. This effect tends to avoid attraction, in order to be used as an inconspicuous but effective security feature to protect security printing types against counterfeiting. In security printing, the term\u00a0“OVI<\/strong>” for\u00a0“optically variable ink<\/strong>” is also used for such kind of inks.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Cold reactive and warm reactive ink<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Colloquially, people also like to say “thermal ink<\/strong>” printing, as an abbreviation of the technical term\u00a0thermochromatic inks<\/strong>.<\/p>

These colors\u00a0react to changes in the surrounding temperature<\/strong>. Depending on the temperature and color setting, they disappear or appear unexpectedly. A well-known example is the beer bottle, on whose label a toast suddenly appears when it cools down under 8\u00b0C.<\/p>

Thermal ink set to heat covers underlying offset printing. When exposed to warmth, such as placing a finger or hand on it, exhaling warm breathe on it or holding it up to the radiator, the ink layer becomes largely transparent and the offset printed image underneath becomes visible. When cooled, the ink regains opacity.<\/p>

Both effects, cold-sensitive and heat-sensitive printing, are reversible and can therefore be repeated several times.<\/p>

Opaque is only available in black. Colored shades are not opaque and are therefore particularly suitable for cold applications such as in the refrigerator.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

We strongly advise against thermal inks for heat applications<\/strong>, as they do not provide quick wow effects for advertising purposes: The transition from color to extensive transparency is only gradual and by no means sudden, as when a light switch is flicked. Also, the surface of the hand only has a certain amount of thermal energy. Fields as small as only 2 x 2 cm can therefore react very hesitantly. Also, even at full resolution, a slight haze always remains! Likewise, temperature fluctuations of the seasons can cause problems: Temperature settings, which are necessary for a release by hand heat, often automatically lead to a permanently transparent reacted color on hot summer days.<\/p>
